Staying Human Through Ritual: Reflections from the Virgo Blood Moon & Eclipse

“Ritual is the technology we use to stay human in the face of systems

that want to grind us down.”  — Jamila Bradley

In these times, I believe we are being invited to stand deeply as our authentic selves. And to do that, we need spaces where it feels safe to bring all the layers of the wildflowers we are.

With the Virgo Blood Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse, many of us felt the pressure of moving through the eclipse portal — a symbolic rebirth passage. The squeeze some of us felt (or are still feeling) may be preparation for what is emerging.

Can you stand in your truth even when you are in the discomfort of the unknown?

For me, I had to sit with my Perfector — the part of me that wants to show up like I have it all together. Inside, she was screaming as I allowed myself to be fiercely vulnerable, arriving in circle feeling like I had been in an internal thunderstorm all weekend and all day.

At some point in our lives, many of us began to believe the lies shaped through lack of support or painful experiences, such as:

  • You are not where you should be

  • You are broken or unlovable

  • You are not doing it right

  • You are not enough - what's wrong with you?

  • Keep the peace at all cost

In circle, we gave voice to the ways our Perfector or inner critic speaks to us. From that place of honesty, we created herbal bath salts with the intention of softening our relationship with this protective part of ourselves.

These parts were often formed when we were young, trying to protect us in the only ways they knew how.

As we added the salts, we acknowledged the protection these parts offered, while gently letting them know we are ready to find new ways that nourish our roots instead of creating a toxic inner environment.

Our shared intention was that as we use the herbal bath salts, this old way of protecting ourselves can begin to dissolve.

Together, we spoke the voices that usually live in the darkness of our minds and brought them into the light — reclaiming our power and remembering our wholeness.

We practiced the truth that vulnerability makes us whole, and that wholeness is what can undo generations of disconnection, exploitation, and silence.

How might it support you to find a space where you are witnessed as your whole self?

We would be honored to welcome you into the Wildflower Garden — a space to root into all that you are so you can rise fully as yourself.
