Reflection: Full Moon in Virgo to Soften our Inner Critic

How might it be for you to take a sacred pause: to come back to your breath & the home of your soul, your body?

In circle, we came together to be with our inner critic/oppressor to

“let the darkness season” us. ~ Hifaz

We had the support of the Full Moon shining into our darkness paired with the Lunar Eclipse that allowed the culminations of emotional cycles that have run their course to move beyond what no longer serves us.

A common thread for many of us was that we thought for most of our life that it was "awesome" & didn't even know we had an inner critic or thought it was outside of us.  But at circle or over the years we discovered our inner oppressor was hiding or operating in a soft hum beneath the surface that didn't touch us when we were busy & consumed by life or substances.   

We all had similar voices of perfectionism, you should be _____ more, addicted to the bad things & the self hatred that continued to raise the bar, not trusting our own voice anymore, or it's been a weapon we've held for so long to protect ourselves at the same time as cutting off our inherent worth.

Together we allowed our inner critic to take on a funny accent to give ourselves the space to respond in our adult presence to them.  We sang and held each other in circle as the land & dirt transmuted our critic to begin or continue to soften the relationship with them, so we can rise into the younique wildflowers we are.

We do this work in community to expand the container for holding something that might be too much on our own.  And by being deeply witnessed & supported in community something in us changes to have more capacity to hold it when we are alone.  As I remind the women this is "a solitary journey we cannot do alone." Our wounding (and if not ours our ancestors) happened in community, so I believe that in order to heal we need to be witnessed in community. And the power of ritual helps us to midwife change in our lives.
