Reflection: Planting Seeds of Dreams New Moon Circle Medicine
I invite you to take a moment to pause to check in with your breath and your body to notice the inner landscape & what you might be experiencing. Now that you've landed in your body...
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.” -Helen Keller
In circle, we gathered eye to eye & heart to heart to deeply feel & be present to witness ourselves & our sisters. We each arrived carrying emotions, feeling the weight of them and the power of circle allowed us to fully land and shift our energy to meet the depth of our souls.
We tapped into the full sensual beings that we are and were vulnerable through sharing our whole selves with a partner. At one point, it was as if I were witnessing each of the women as their little girl self that was fully seen & heard with no masks to hide & shrink under.
Just as a baby's breathing is influenced by their mothers breathing sounds, we had an experience of creating heart coherence breathing & being deeply seen & heard with the gift of silence. One woman said, as a way of protecting herself, she rarely looked into others eyes, up until this space where she was invited to look deep into her sister's soul in her eyes.
Through ritual we got clear on the seeds of our dreams. Together we got messy by planting & watering seeds (from the butterfly gardens on the land) of our dreams & intentions that will grow into plants to add to the garden being added this year to the east side of the labyrinth.
In our flatline culture, we need a community that is willing to be deeply present for us in the messiness without fixing us, so that we are more able to be with & move through it when we are alone. It also creates a healing balm for our wounding that happened in community, either to us &/or our ancestors.
Mother of us all
By: Stephen Levine
Mother-of-us-all prays to free us
from our image of perfection
to which so much suffering clings.
When in the shadowy mind
we imagine ourselves imperfectly,
praying to be freed from gravity
by enlightenment, she refines our prayers.
Putting her arms around us
she bids us rest our head on her shoulder
whispering, Don’t you know
with all your fear and anger
all you are fit for is love.
