We Don’t Have to Do This Soul Work Alone: Our Leo Eclipse Circle

“A circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our own power. Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of healing. A circle of friends. Someplace where we can be free.”  ~Starhawk

I deeply felt this last week in circle after being out of town for the last one. I felt such a thirst for this space — to be witnessed, supported, and reminded that we don't have to do our soul work of love alone.

There is something powerful about being in a circle where we can use our voices, take up space, be fully ourselves, and have others witness us as we step more deeply into our own power.

The Solar Eclipse asked us to first release what is interfering with our ability to love, play, create, or shine.

For some of us, that looked like:

  • Not listening to our body's wisdom and knowing

  • Taking responsibility for others & keeping everyone else happy except ourselves

  • Being controlled or needing to control

  • Getting pulled into family or other people's drama

  • Fear, doubt & judgment

  • Getting sucked into social media or time on phone

The snake breath helped us move some of that energy, and after reflecting on what we were releasing — perhaps even a deeper layer of something we've been working with for a while — we moved it through our bodies.

We allowed the Om Namo Kali song to help us give it to Kali, the motherly protectress who destroys evil and the ego so the soul can find peace.

Then each of us practiced embodying the leader we are.

We acted out movements that represented what we were releasing while the group mirrored the actions of the Wildflower leading. We didn't just talk about what we wanted to release — we embodied it.

Through movement, sound, and breath, we gave our bodies permission to move what our minds and bodies had been holding.

We finished the ritual by naming and burning what we had written down, allowing ourselves to release it so we could become like the phoenix rising from the ashes.

Release. Transform. Rise.

And once we had created that space, we could begin to open ourselves to the vision of who we are choosing to be moving forward.

We each chose an oracle card and spent time listening to what its image was speaking to us about where we are ready to breathe life back into ourselves and our lives.

We wrote down what arose and, as a ritual of igniting our visions, we spoke them out loud and lit a candle.

And then we blew the candles out together as we made a wish.

Because sometimes we need to name the vision before we can begin to live into it.

Sometimes we need to release what has been taking up space before we can receive what is waiting for us.

And sometimes we simply need a circle of wildflowers who will witness us, hold us, mirror us, and remind us that we don't have to do this alone.

What are you ready to release so you can make more room for what wants to come alive through you? I'd love to know and breathe life into it with you.

From my wild heart to yours, may you keep choosing the spaces where you can be witnessed, held, and fully free to become who you are here to be.
