What if being messy is part of the medicine?
Most of us are wrapped in an invisible web we keep spinning to hold ourselves together.
To follow the rules.
To be good.
To get it right.
To keep our shit together.
We can become so afraid of being messy, making the wrong choice, or not knowing what comes next that we stay busy instead.
We fix everyone else's problems.
We consume.
We scroll.
We keep doing all the things that make it look like we're okay.
All the while, something inside of us may be whispering—or screaming—this isn't working anymore.
And what if the very messiness we are trying so hard to avoid is actually where some of our greatest medicine lives?
We have been taught to keep it together, put on a smile, and say we're “FINE” while we're crumbling inside.
But I have come to embrace the messiness of transition because this is where so much can be revealed.
I had to learn how to create safe spaces in relationships where I could fall apart and be witnessed. Where I could be reminded, “You are loved in this too,” without being fixed, rescued, or having to tend to someone else's discomfort with me not having it all together.
What if you gave yourself permission to be messy?
Women Navigating Life Transitions Retreat begins October 2nd—just days away.
So for my final invitation, I want to make this really simple:
How much of your life do you spend judging yourself for doing it wrong?
How much time do you spend putting yourself on the back burner?
Trying to get through whatever you're navigating so you can finally get to what's next.
Doing all the things that make it seem like you're okay, even though something inside feels like it's dying.
Knowing something feels off but not trusting yourself enough to act on it.
Looking for another opinion.
Another perspective.
Another sign.
Another reason to believe yourself.
At some point, we have to—or are forced to—slow down and face what is actually here.
Your transition doesn't have to be perfect.
It doesn't have to be completely planned out.
And you don't have to know the next logical step before you take the next true one.
This is why I created the Women Navigating Life Transitions Retreat.
Over the weekend, we'll slow down enough to be with the transitions we're moving through—and with the messy emotions that come along with them.
As Caroline Myss describes it, it can be a space where we have “permission to vacate ordinary consciousness and slip into the mystical part of your nature to ask soul-sized questions that reveal truth rather than simple answers."
Imagine what might shift when you give yourself permission to be messy while being witnessed.
To deepen your trust in yourself.
To create beauty from what you're moving through.
To listen beneath the noise for what you already know.
Imagine the energy you get back when you no longer have to keep it all together.
The freedom that comes from being seen in the death of what was.
The clarity that can come when you slow down and create through ritual.
The power of honoring—and creating beauty from—the transition you're living.
This is the reclamation of staying rooted in who you are while everything around you is changing.
Not becoming someone new.
But clearing away enough of the noise, expectations, and “shoulds” to hear the intelligence that has been there all along.
And yes…when we create space to slow down, feel, be witnessed, and move through change differently, we give our bodies and brains new information about how to navigate future transitions with more grace.
WOMEN NAVIGATING LIFE TRANSITIONS RETREAT
October 2–4 | On the Wildflower Land
So if you've been circling this one, maybe you don't need to think about it ten more times.
Feel what your answer is.
Notice what happens in your body when you imagine saying yes.
Notice what happens when you imagine saying no.
And then trust yourself enough to listen.
We begin October 2nd.
Come as you are.
Come messy.
Come uncertain.
Come exactly as you are.
You don't have to navigate this threshold alone.
With love & wildness,
Jenny
